President George Strickland called meeting to order at the Southern Main Beagle Club on July
5th, 2008. The president welcomed all guest and delegates:

There was quite a bit of conversation on how we might be able to bring in more revenue. The idea of
charging for Litter Registrations was discussed and after much input it was voted down. In lieu of
charging for Litter Registrations it was voted to increase the entries fee to $25.00.
Another topic of discussion, where we might be able to hold Futurity next year. We will have an answer
to that question sometime in August. It was voted on to have all delegates contact clubs in their
association and ask about them hosting the Futurity in coming years so that maybe we could get a list
together for upcoming years. Any Club interested please contact Deb Brown 502 Guild Hill Road

Or phone Deb @ 802-244-8507. We need to know by Sept 15th of each year of any club that is
interesting in hosting the Futurity. Northfield Beagle Club in Williamstown Vermont will host our 2009

To stop requiring Litters to be registered with the Futurity,
It is the feeling of many that the purpose of registering litters is no longer valid and is creating a lot of
unnecessary work for many. Mickey Sergio from AKC said we were the only ones at this time requiring
this. After much discussion it was motioned to not require litters to be registered, seconded, voted and
passed. The only requirement is the hound must be turning two the year it runs in the Futurity . Example if
you have a hound that was born in 2008 that hound is eligible to run in the 2010 Futurity.

It was motioned and passed to give a $100 donation to the Barre Town Fire Department for the use of
their tent which they put up and will take down for us. It was also motioned to write Bev Cross a thank
you letter for all of her hard work on our new website. It was motioned and seconded to close meeting.

Next year’s trial will be held at Vermont Beagle Club in Hardwick Vermont. VBC was asked to send
written agreement for hosting club . Discussed at meeting was that VBC didn’t want to do the kitchen
during the Futurity so Gayla Perreault was asked if she would be Chairman of the kitchen for the Futurity
as she would run the kitchen and do all purchasing and get her own help. VBC and the Futurity are to
split the cost of Dumpster and porta pots. VBC will be putting on the Banquet Saturday night and
retaining all the proceeds from it. This agreement will be followed up with letter from VBC.. VBC was
also asked to send Futurity ( Deb Brown ) copy of their insurance policy. Any other details can be
worked out between the two parties.
Question was asked if the Futurity would like to send a donation to Cathy Palmer’s son, to help with his
medical expense. He had a heart transplant in May and was in the hospital for over a month. After much
discussion it was motioned to send $500.00 (from the Futurity) voted and passed. Deb Brown will send
out check.
Also motioned was to give South Barre Fire Department a $100.00 donation for the use of their tent,
which they delivered, put up and took down, after discussion it was voted and passed to do so.
It was motioned and passed to give Gayla Perreault a hundred dollar gift certificate and send flowers as a
thank you for all of her hard work in the kitchen.
